In a significant breakthrough, Delhi police have apprehended Majid Choudhary, 28, in connection with the Gokulpuri road rage and murder case. Majid was injured in both legs during a brief shootout with police on Friday. The authorities recovered a 7.65 mm pistol and a stolen motorcycle.
The incident dates back to July 31 when a road rage altercation in Delhi's Gokalpuri area resulted in the fatal shooting of Simranjeet Kaur, 30, as she traveled with her husband, Heera Singh, on a bike. According to police reports, Singh had a heated exchange with a person on a two-wheeler near Gokal Puri Flyover, which escalated, leading to the fatal shot from about 30-35 feet distance.
Simranjeet was struck in the chest near her neck and later pronounced dead at GTB Hospital. A murder case was registered and CCTV footage led to the identification and subsequent arrest of Majid Choudhary. Further investigation is currently underway.
