Indian Navy's frontline frigate, INS Tabar, successfully completed a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the Russian Navy Ship Soobrazitelny. The exercise took place during INS Tabar's visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, from July 25 to July 30, 2024, to participate in the 328th Russian Navy Day Parade celebrations.

India and Russia share warm bilateral relations and extensive maritime cooperation. The visit by INS Tabar aimed to strengthen this longstanding friendship and explore new opportunities for enhancing bilateral ties. The successful conduct of MPX underscores a significant milestone in the maritime collaboration between India and Russia, reaffirming both nations' commitment to regional peace, stability, and security.

The MPX included complex naval maneuvers, communication drills, Search & Rescue tactics, and Replenishment at Sea operations. Both navies demonstrated high levels of professionalism and interoperability.
