Tragedy struck Himachal Pradesh as heavy rainfall led to a flash flood near Sangam Nalluh in Kaza, Lahaul and Spiti, sweeping away a woman and burying a vehicle under debris. The District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) confirmed the calamitous event.

According to the Himachal Pradesh State Emergency Operation Centre, personnel from the IPC 17th Corps and local police, along with an ambulance and a JCB, were deployed to the site for rescue missions. The incident comes as the region grapples with the aftermath of cloudbursts and flash floods.

In a situation report covering the past 36 hours, authorities noted that six people lost their lives and 47 were missing in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla. Mandi witnessed the highest casualties, while Shimla reported the highest number of missing persons. Extensive rescue and relief operations are ongoing under the supervision of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Addressing the media, CM Sukhu assured comprehensive support for victims, stating, "Restoration work is underway, and we will provide all possible help."

The District Disaster Management Authority received early morning information about a cloud burst near the Samej Khad hydropower project, prompting a swift response from multiple rescue teams, according to Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap.
