Jammu and Kashmir Sacks Six Officials Over Alleged Narco-Terror Links

In a sweeping move, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has terminated six government officials, including five police personnel and a teacher, for their alleged involvement in narco-terror activities, according to sources. The terminated officials are Head Constable Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, Constables Khalid Hussian Shah, Rahmat Shah, Irshad Ahmad Chalkoo, Saif Din, and Nazam Din (teacher).

The dismissals come after an investigation revealed that these officials were part of a 'narco-terror network' operated by Pakistan's ISI and local terror groups. The decision to terminate them was made by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under Article 311 (2) (c) of the Indian Constitution. Jammu and Kashmir police collected critical evidence showing that these police constables acted as collaborators in the network.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha described narco-terror as a significant threat to national security. 'War on Narco-terror network is a critical component of the war on terrorism to eliminate the terror ecosystem and to ensure peace and prosperity in J&K,' Sinha stated. This recent wave of terminations brings the total number of dismissed employees involved in narco-terror activities to eight this month.
