A 57-year-old man died by suicide by jumping in front of an approaching train at Doddakallasandra Station in Bengaluru at 5:45 PM on August 3. The tragic incident led to a significant disruption of services on the Green Line for several hours.
In a statement released on social media platform X, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) confirmed the incident, saying, "A man of 57 years of age has committed suicide by jumping in front of the approaching train at Doddakallasandra Station at 17:45 hrs. The body has been removed by the police and taken to a hospital for postmortem. Further investigation is on."
The BMRCL further noted that services were disrupted between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute stations, leaving numerous passengers stranded. They posted, "On Green Line, train services are suspended between Yelachenahalli & Silk Institute Stations. Remaining section the services are on."
