The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting India in its ambitious energy transition journey. According to a US official, there are significant opportunities for collaboration between stakeholders in both countries, particularly in the renewable energy sector.
Jonathan Heimer, Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the US Foreign Commercial Service, highlighted the strong Indo-US ties and emphasized America's role in helping India achieve its ambitious energy goals. Speaking at the 2nd Energy Summit of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Heimer underscored the robust Indo-US cooperation and India's growing clean energy initiatives.
He noted that India aims to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning the country as a global leader in the clean energy space. Carrie Antal, Deputy Director of the Indo-Pacific Office at USAID, echoed these sentiments, pointing out that many countries look to India for innovative ideas and support as they pursue their own sustainable development goals.
