Boulder Disrupts Rail Services on Kalyan-Kasara Section, Trains Restored After Hours

A large boulder fell onto the tracks on the Kalyan-Kasara section, disrupting rail services. Restoration work took a few hours, after which train services resumed. The incident affected trains towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus but downline services remained unaffected.

On Wednesday night, a large boulder tumbled onto the tracks between Asangaon and Adgaon on the Kalyan-Kasara section, causing major disruptions in local rail services. Following a few hours of intensive restoration work, authorities successfully cleared the debris and resumed train operations.

'Restoration work has concluded and service has started between Asangaon and Adgaon, Kalyan-Kasara section, where a boulder fell,' Central Railway announced in a statement. Affected upline trains included the 22224 SAINAGAR SHIRDI-CSMT Vande Bharat Express, the 11072 BALLIA-LTT Kamayani Express, and the 12108 SITAPUR-LTT Express.

Despite the incident, downline train movements were not impacted, ensuring continued connectivity. (ANI)
