GAIL and RRVUNL Join Hands for Renewable Energy and Gas-Based Power Projects in Rajasthan
State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd has partnered with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) to explore the development of 1 GW solar and wind projects and jointly operate gas-based power plants in Rajasthan. A non-binding MoU has been signed to optimize operations and promote green energy initiatives.
State-owned gas utility GAIL (India) Ltd and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) have inked a pact to venture into 1 GW solar and wind energy projects and jointly operate gas-based power plants in Rajasthan.
The non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two entities, aiming to optimize the operations of existing gas-based power plants in Dholpur and Ramgarh. The partnership aims to establish a joint venture company to manage these projects.
In addition to renewable energy, GAIL's natural gas pipeline network supplies gas to various customers in Rajasthan and supports the Jal Jeevan Mission by providing polymers for pipe manufacturing, ensuring safe drinking water for rural households.
