The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has announced an invitation for Expression of Interest (EoI) from prospective entrepreneurs interested in establishing multiproduct food irradiation units. This initiative is part of the Integrated Cold Chain & Value Addition Infrastructure scheme under the Central Sector Umbrella Scheme - Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), as outlined in the Union Budget for FY 2024-25.

Eligible projects will receive financial assistance through grants-in-aid or subsidies under this demand-driven Cold Chain scheme. Prospective applicants are required to submit their proposals online at PMKSY Portal under the "PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA" section. Detailed guidelines for the submission, titled "Scheme for Integrated Cold Chain & Value Addition Infrastructure - setting up of food irradiation units," are available on the Ministry of Food Processing Industries' website at MoFPI Guidelines.

The deadline for submitting EoIs and proposals is September 21, 2024. This scheme aims to enhance the food processing infrastructure and contribute to the value addition and shelf-life extension of food products.
