SEBI to Establish Standardised Periodic Reporting for Research Analysts and Proxy Advisers
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is set to introduce a standardised format for periodic reporting by research analysts (RAs) and proxy advisers (PAs). This initiative, assisted by the Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body (RAASB), aims to streamline submissions and enhance supervisory oversight.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is gearing up to launch a standardized format for periodic reporting by research analysts (RAs) and proxy advisers (PAs).
The watchdog has acknowledged the Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body (RAASB) to oversee and supervise RAs under the RA Regulations.
Since Proxy Advisers are also registered under these norms, they will fall under RAASB's jurisdiction as well.
In its consultation paper, SEBI announced the decision to specify a uniform format for RAs and PAs for periodic reporting.
Based on the Industry Standards Forum's (ISF) recommendations, SEBI has developed this standardized reporting format to streamline the submission of activity-related information from RAs and PAs.
The regulator has invited public comments on the proposed format until August 30.
RAs and PAs will be required to submit periodic reports for the half-yearly periods ending on September 30 and March 31 each financial year.
