Amara Raja Group initiated a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday for their Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) dedicated to cell manufacturing at Divitipally in Mahabubnagar district, India.
The event, organized by Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), a subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited (ARE&M), marked a significant step forward for one of India's leading battery producers. As part of the festivities, Phase 1 of the company's battery pack plant, with a capacity of 1.5 GWh, was also inaugurated.
Designed to specifically cater to Indian conditions, the new Li-ion battery packs will serve major EV OEMs and stationery energy storage needs. Set to be operational by Q1 of the next financial year, the CQP will diversify its offerings for customer testing and validation. Collaboration with Gotion Inobat (GIB) for technology and solutions has further bolstered the project's development.
