In the aftermath of heavy rains in the national capital, a building collapsed in the Mahendru Enclave of Model Town on Saturday. According to Delhi Fire Services, several individuals are feared to be trapped in the debris.

Eyewitness and local resident Paras reported, 'This was an old banquet hall that has collapsed. It fell around 3 o'clock.' Paras fled the scene upon witnessing the incident. His child also sustained minor scratches. Ongoing repair work at the rear of the building has raised concerns that some individuals might be buried under the rubble.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has arrived on-site, and more information is awaited. Meanwhile, another incident occurred on Friday in Delhi's Dichaon area, where two people were injured after a wall of an MCD school, accompanied by an uprooted tree, collapsed due to heavy rains.

'Due to heavy rain, an old and large Neem tree was uprooted and fell on the MCD school wall, causing it to collapse on two motorcyclists seeking shelter from the rain beneath the tree,' a police official confirmed.

The injured, identified as Rajesh (25) and Ashok Kumar Yadav (32), were treated at Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital and have since been discharged. Both motorcycles involved were damaged in the incident. Police officials have confirmed that the injured have now fully recovered. (ANI)
