At least seven people lost their lives and nine others were injured in a stampede at the Baba Siddhanath Temple in Makhdumpur, Jehanabad district, early Monday morning. The District Magistrate, Alankrita Pandey, confirmed the incident to ANI, stating that measures are now in place to control the situation.
Divakar Kumar Vishwakarma, the Station House Officer of Jehanabad, reported that both the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police visited the site to assess the circumstances. He emphasized that the authorities are working diligently to identify the deceased and complete necessary procedures, including post-mortem examinations.
Vikas Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Jehanabad, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, remarking that despite tight arrangements, the unfortunate incident occurred. Officials are continuously monitoring the situation and promise further updates as more information becomes available.
