Uttarakhand CM Dhami Boosts Support for Ex-Servicemen at Dehradun Event

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the gratitude and dialogue programme organized by the Uttarakhand Ex-Serviceman Organisation. He announced several benefits for martyred soldiers' families, increased grants, and new initiatives honoring veterans' contributions.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended a gratitude and dialogue programme by the Uttarakhand Ex-Serviceman Organisation at Doon Sainik Institute, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, on Sunday. The event witnessed heartfelt thanks from brave women, officers, and soldiers for increasing the ex-gratia grant for martyred soldiers from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

Dhami also extended the application period for government jobs for families of martyred soldiers from two years to five years. He announced job placements for dependents in various departments and new benefits for contract workers. The Chief Minister praised the soldiers as protectors of the Himalayas and environment, urging ex-servicemen to support 'Har Ghar Tiranga' and 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaigns.

The Chief Minister highlighted Uttarakhand's unique support for decorated soldiers, providing lifetime lump-sum amounts to those with gallantry awards and increasing monthly grants for ex-soldiers and war widows. He acknowledged the vital contributions of military families and spoke about upcoming initiatives, including a grand military Dham inauguration. Dhami also criticized casteism in the context of atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh, advocating for national unity.
