Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday joined a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan event at Battala in Agartala ahead of the 78th Independence Day celebrations. The event aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene as part of a nationwide campaign to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment.

Using the social media platform 'X,' Saha expressed his pride in participating in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'Proud to join the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Participated in a Swachh Bharat campaign at Battala market area today. Let's celebrate our independence in a clean and dignified environment, reflecting the true spirit of freedom,' Saha said.

The Chief Minister's involvement underscores Tripura's robust commitment to the Swachh Bharat initiative. The campaign focused on cleaning streets, public spaces, and markets in Battala, emphasizing waste segregation and plastic waste disposal. Saha engaged with participants, commending their efforts and urging them to adopt eco-friendly practices.

This initiative is a part of a series of activities organized by the Tripura government to celebrate Independence Day, promoting both national cleanliness and the spirit of responsible civic action. The Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign encourages citizens to hoist the tricolour on their homes, shops, and offices.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 112th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' on July 28, appealed to citizens to hoist the national flag as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to mark the 78th Independence Day on August 15.
