U.S. Braces for Potential Iranian Attacks in Middle East

The U.S. is gearing up for possible substantial attacks by Iran or its proxies in the Middle East as early as this week, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby announced on Monday.

Kirby highlighted the bolstered U.S. regional force posture and aligned concerns with Israel over potential Iranian-backed assaults following accusations from Iran and Hamas regarding the assassination of a Hamas leader in Tehran last month.

In response to these rising threats, the Pentagon has mobilized a guided missile submarine to the region and accelerated the deployment of the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, although its current positioning near the South China Sea means it will take over a week to arrive.
