MSCI Index Update: New Additions and Deletions for August 2024

In a recent update, MSCI announced that several firms, including Vodafone Idea and Oil India, will be added to the MSCI India Index, effective from August 30, 2024. The latest revisions were revealed in MSCI's comprehensive index review.
The companies set for inclusion are Dixon Technologies (India), Oil India, Oracle Financial Services Software, Prestige Estates Projects, Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, and Zydus Lifesciences. Conversely, Bandhan Bank will be removed from the MSCI India Index as per the index compiler's announcement.
Following the news, shares of Rail Vikas Nigam surged by 4.61%, while Dixon Technologies saw a 3.29% rise. Oil India (3.21%), Oracle Financial Services Software (1.95%), and Prestige Estates (1.46%) also experienced gains on the BSE. However, Vodafone Idea and Zydus Lifesciences were trading lower.
