In a landmark initiative to boost digital health education across India, the National Health Authority (NHA) and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda in the national capital.

Under this collaboration, MUHS will offer its Digital Health Foundation Course (DHFC) to the NHA and develop additional digital health programs to support the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). NHA will continue to steer government policy on digital health, aiming for an interoperable digital health ecosystem. The MoU includes plans for future courses, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda hailed the partnership as a critical step towards integrating digital health education into medical curricula, stating it will enhance the skills of healthcare professionals and improve access to quality care for millions. MUHS Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (Retd) Madhuri Kanitkar highlighted the pivotal role of the DHFC in preparing healthcare professionals for digital transformation. The course will be offered to medical students, in-service doctors, and healthcare professionals through platforms like Mission Karmayogi's iGOT, enabling them to effectively implement ABDM.
