The charges stem from an FIR filed by the Gujarat Police, which accused Gokhale of misusing funds collected through crowd-funding. The Directorate of Enforcement revealed these details on its official social media handle, X.

The court's move follows Gokhale's arrest by the Gujarat Police in December 2022 for allegedly spending large sums of crowd-funded money on speculative share trading and personal expenses. The ED had filed a charge sheet against the 31-year-old MP under PMLA last year.
