Dakshina Kannada Farmers Seek Support for Arecanut Crop

The Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, M P Mullai Muhilan, has committed to submitting a proposal to the state government for setting support prices for the arecanut crop.
This decision came during a meeting at the Collector's office on Tuesday, where he addressed the concerns of local farmers. Farmers in surrounding districts, including Udupi, Chikkamgaluru, and Shivamogga, have also requested similar actions from their administrations.
Other topics discussed at the meeting included simplifying gun licenses for crop protection and finding solutions for crop damage caused by wildlife, such as monkeys and peacocks. Compensation for damaged trees will also be provided, he assured farmers.
