The Ministry of Health, Family Welfare, and Medical Education has laid out an extensive strategy to revamp healthcare services across all Government General Hospitals. This includes both long-standing institutions and new ones, aiming to transform patient and visitor experiences.

The plan incorporates actions based on feedback, media reports, and visits by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav to various hospitals over the past two months. A crucial meeting with principals and superintendents from 15 government colleges and hospitals was held on August 13, tackling various issues for over seven hours to finalize actionable steps.

Key actions include ensuring a clean hospital environment, proper signage, and auditing equipment availability. Front desk services are to be bolstered, OP services streamlined, and specialized diagnostic areas created. There’s a strong emphasis on monitoring doctor attendance, combating corruption, and optimizing resource utilization. Feedback mechanisms and regular performance assessments are also prioritized.
