The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has granted bail to four family members accused of selling magic mushrooms in Tamil Nadu’s Kodaikanal, stating that the case appeared to be a false one.

The court noted a property dispute with the CSI Church management as the real issue, ordering a CB-CID (Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department) investigation.

The family, consisting of Salomon, Jayanthi, Victoria Rani, and Helen Mary, claimed that the accusations were concocted to evict them from their bungalows in Kodaikanal’s prime property area. The court transferred the investigation from Kodaikanal Police to CB-CID in Dindigul or Madurai.
