Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Slams Governor Over Prosecution Move in MUDA Scam

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemns Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's approval for his prosecution related to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. Siddaramaiah claims the Governor is acting under BJP influence to destabilize the state government. Congress leaders rally in support of Siddaramaiah, denouncing the prosecution as politically motivated.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly condemned Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision to grant permission for his prosecution in connection with the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The Chief Minister claims that the Governor is acting at the behest of the BJP to overthrow the elected government in the state. Siddaramaiah described the Governor's move as 'illegal' during an urgent cabinet meeting today.

'The Governor's permission for prosecution against me is against the Constitution. The Governor is supposed to act as a representative of the Constitution, but he is behaving like a representative of the Central Government and the BJP,' stated Siddaramaiah. He accused the Governor of being a 'puppet' of the Central Government and suggested that the decision was politically motivated.

Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje and BJP Youth Wing President Tejaswi Surya have urged Siddaramaiah's resignation, citing his culpability in two cases and allegations involving his wife in the MUDA scam. Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including MB Patil and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, have rallied in Siddaramaiah's defense, calling the prosecution a 'politically motivated conspiracy.'
