On Monday, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose delivered a stinging rebuke to the Mamata Banerjee government, accusing it of failing to protect the women of the state. 'Bengal is not a place safe for women. The present government has let its women folk down,' Bose stated.

Referring to the gruesome tragedy that recently occurred at RG Kar Medical College, the Governor underscored the lack of safety for women in Bengal and announced plans to discuss the deteriorating situation with Home Minister Amit Shah. Additionally, Bose expressed his solidarity with the distressed civil society and emphasized the failure of the government in protecting women's safety.

Meanwhile, the Governor addressed the nation on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters as a cornerstone of Indian culture. He also acknowledged the anguish of the medical community and Harbhajan Singh’s call for swift action, organizing an emergency meeting to address the concerns arising from the recent incident.
