Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival with school girls tying rakhis on his wrist in the national capital. PM Modi extended his wishes on social media, praying for everyone's happiness and prosperity. 'Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolizing the immense love between brother and sister,' he posted on X.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked the occasion by celebrating Raksha Bandhan with Usha Rana from Rashtriya Sainik Sansthan and students from Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School at his residence. President Droupadi Murmu also sent her heartfelt greetings, emphasizing the festival's message of love and mutual trust.
Raksha Bandhan, known as Rakhi, is a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to the love between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a rakhi around their brothers' wrists in a gesture of protection and love, receiving gifts in return.
