Union Minister of Power and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, today launched the Portal for Online Monitoring of Projects – Thermal (PROMPT) in New Delhi, marking a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency and transparency of India's power sector.

During the launch, Shri Manohar Lal emphasized the critical role of electricity as a driver of economic activities in the country. With increasing power demand, timely completion of ongoing thermal projects is essential. The PROMPT portal is designed to facilitate transparent, coordinated, and effective project management across the sector.

Developed with the assistance of NTPC, PROMPT enables real-time tracking and analysis of thermal power projects. This digital platform allows project managers and stakeholders to quickly identify and address potential delays or issues, ensuring projects stay on schedule.

Real-Time Monitoring: The portal centralizes project tracking, enabling swift identification and resolution of issues.

Transparency and Accountability: Digitizing the monitoring process enhances transparency, reduces time and cost overruns, and improves overall project execution efficiency.

Resource Optimization: PROMPT supports predictable resource availability, helping to meet electricity demand at a reasonable price, benefiting consumers.

To ensure smooth adoption, hands-on training sessions have been conducted for project developers, with many already inputting data into the portal on a monthly basis. The Ministry of Power remains committed to leveraging innovative digital solutions to enhance the power sector's efficiency and ensure reliable and affordable electricity for all.
