Hungary's Energy Supply Secured Despite Regional Turmoil

Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto assured that the country's energy and gas supplies remain secure despite ongoing conflicts in the region. The Turkstream pipeline ensures adequate gas supply, and negotiations are nearing completion to address potential oil shortages due to restrictions on Russian exporters.

Hungary's energy supply remains secure despite ongoing regional conflicts, according to Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. Speaking on Facebook, Szijjarto stated that the country's gas supplies are unaffected by the fighting in Sudzha, Russia's Kursk region, as other pipelines provide sufficient gas.

Gas flows continue smoothly through the Turkstream pipeline, which runs via Turkey and Serbia to Hungary. Szijjarto emphasized that the current gas-supply plan remains on track and is not impacted by the turmoil.

Negotiations are in the final stages to tackle Kyiv’s decision to block Russian oil-exporter Lukoil from using its infrastructure. Szijjarto assured that Hungary and Slovakia, both reliant on the Druzhba pipeline, will have their crude-oil supplies secured beyond short- and medium-term measures.
