Union Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday targeted Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren after JMM leader Champai Soren indicated plans to form a new political party, suggesting future alliances. Chouhan blamed Hemant Soren for the present state of Jharkhand, stating that he deceived many, including his own relatives, saying, "aisa koi saga nahi jisko Hemant Soren ne thaga nahi."
Chouhan remarked, "Now whatever is being done is done by Hemant Soren. He (Champai Soren) expressed his pain. He is one of the founders of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha who worked hand in hand with Shibu Soren...Due to Hemant Soren's behaviour, Sita Soren was in the same condition earlier. 'Aisa koi saga nahi jisko Hemnat Soren ne thaga nahi'...Champai ji has said everything, BJP has nothing to do with this." Champai Soren's decision follows a period of what he described as "bitter humiliation" during his tenure as Jharkhand chief minister.
Champai Soren, hinting at future political moves, said, "I had mentioned three options - retirement, organisation, or friend. I will not retire; I will strengthen the party, a new party, and if I meet a good friend on the way, then will move ahead with them." His grievances were aired on social media, stating he had been "insulted" during his tenure as Chief Minister, leaving all options open for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections.
With the political environment intensifying, all attention is on Champai Soren's next steps, which could significantly impact the forthcoming state elections. The BJP is gearing up to challenge the government as assembly elections are set for 2024.
Earlier today, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren lashed out at the Union government, accusing it of ruining the lives of the country's youth. "The BJP and the central government have ruined the lives of the youth of the entire country. The sons and daughters of the poor mostly used to join Coal India, army, railways, and banks but the BJP has closed the doors to employment in all these sectors," he asserted.
"We are continuously providing benefits through various programs. Thousands have benefited today, whether it be in Panchayat Sachiv, teachers, or agricultural departments. Much more is to be done," he added. Hemant Soren mentioned the introduction of Samman Rashi of Rs 1000 and linking 9 lakh girls with the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, aiming to increase the beneficiaries to 15 lakh.
