Pensioners' Plea: EPS-95 NAC Demands Minimum Pension Hike from Finance Minister

Representatives of the EPS-95 National Agitation Committee (NAC) met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday, demanding an increase in the minimum pension to Rs 7,500 per month.
Sitharaman reassured the committee that the government is sensitive to the needs of the pensioners and committed to finding a solution. She highlighted the government's dedication to ensuring financial security for the elderly.
The EPS-95 NAC, representing 78 lakh retired pensioners and 7.5 crore working employees, has been protesting for eight years for an increase from the current average monthly pension of Rs 1,450. Additionally, they are demanding full medical coverage for EPS members and their spouses.
