Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences following the tragic loss of life due to a debris collapse between Sonprayag and Munkatiya on Monday evening. An official release stated that as soon as the information was received, rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the Sector Magistrate Sonprayag were dispatched to the site.

The rescue team reportedly reached the site quickly and conducted a swift operation. The operation resulted in the recovery of one dead and two injured individuals, who were promptly sent to Sonprayag for treatment via ambulance. Chief Minister Dhami mourned the loss of life and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, noting that rescue efforts were ongoing and the government was providing all possible assistance.

In addition, CM Dhami turned to social media platform X to inform the public about the incident. He expressed sorrow over the situation wherein some passengers were buried under the debris between Sonprayag and Munkatiya in Rudraprayag district. The local administration, along with NDRF and SDRF teams, is actively engaged in rescue operations. The Chief Minister stated that he is in continuous contact with concerned officials to oversee the rescue mission and prayed for the safety of all travelers.
