Telangana Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao conducted a review meeting on the impacts of the Godavari floods in Bhadrachalam due to heavy rains, according to an official statement released on Wednesday. Despite the river reaching 55 feet, no harm was caused to tribal families or livestock in the area, thanks to the collective efforts of the district collector and officials.

During the meeting at the sub-collector's office, Rao commended the district administration for their proactive measures that prevented loss of life and property. He also highlighted the role of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who prioritized flood prevention through the construction of a new barrage worth Rs40 crore, safeguarding Bhadrachalam town and its surrounding villages from flooding.

Rao instructed officials to focus on enhancing education, healthcare, and agriculture for tribal families. He urged the preparation of plans to provide basic amenities to every household, and called for immediate aid to farmers affected by unexpected rains in Manuguru and Khammam mandals. The administration has conducted surveys and provided Rs 10,000 per acre to affected farmers, along with Rs 16,500 to each of the over 2,000 impacted households. Rao stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to support tribal farmers and maintain the government's reputation.
