The incident at the 90,000-volt Hann station led to a wider disruption on an interconnection grid, halting electricity distribution across Senegal. Details about the accident remain undisclosed.
Following a decade-old power crisis, Senegal has invested heavily in improving power infrastructure. Current efforts are focused on restoring power, with some areas in the capital Dakar and other regions already witnessing partial recovery.
