Multiple points on the Badrinath National Highway have been blocked due to landslides, causing significant traffic disruptions in Chamoli district. The Chamoli Police reported the incident on Friday morning, stating that the highway is blocked at Kameda (Gauchar), Nandprayag, and Chhinka in Chamoli.

The police later updated that the blocked road at Chhinka has been reopened for traffic. This incident occurs just days after the highway, previously blocked at Pagalnala and Nandprayag, was reopened for vehicles. Chamoli Police had confirmed the reopening on social media, but traffic movement faces further disruptions.

Frequent landslides and debris have been recurring issues on the highway. Earlier, the Uttarkashi administration proposed relocating families near Varunavat mountain due to continuous landslides. District Magistrate Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht recalled a severe 2003 landslide and noted the exacerbation due to ongoing rains. Efforts to address the situation include technical surveys and precautionary relocations.
