Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the 'Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag' on Saturday, aimed at promoting the use of Indian languages alongside Hindi and ensuring better coordination between them. Shah will launch the new section during the inaugural session of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the 4th Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan, organized by the Department of Official Language on September 14-15 in the national capital, marking 75 years of Hindi becoming the official language, according to a statement.
In alignment with the Constitution and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directive, the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs proposed the establishment of the Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag to promote Indian languages alongside Hindi. Inspired by PM Modi and guided by Shah, the Official Language Department has been organizing the Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan annually since 2021.
During the event, Shah will unveil the Diamond Jubilee Special Issue of 'Rajbhasha Bharti' magazine, a commemorative postage stamp and coin. He will present the Rajbhasha Gaurav and Rajbhasha Kirti Awards. The event will also feature releases of books and magazines, reflecting Shah's vision of celebrating Hindi Diwas on a larger scale since 2019. Previous celebrations have rejuvenated the Official Language personnel across the nation.
This year's celebrations are significant as the Official Language Department marks its Diamond Jubilee, highlighting 75 years of Hindi's official status. The two-day event includes discussions on Hindi's progress, a session on India's cultural heritage and Hindi by Hindi poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas, linguistic experts on Devanagari script, and sessions on new legal codes delivered by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. A session on Hindi's role in Indian cinema will be addressed by actor Anupam Kher and director Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Over 10,000 participants including Rajbhasha officials, Hindi scholars, and senior government officials are expected to attend.
