70-year-old man held for allegedly molesting woman in Goa's Calangute area

A 70-year-old man was Thursday arrested for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman and also attacking her friend with a knife in Goa's Calangute area, police said. Inspector Jivba Dalvi of Calangute police station identified the accused as Agnelo Pereira. The victim filed a complaint that the man had grabbed her hand and forcibly tried to hug her at Calangute beach on Thursday, Dalvi said. When the victim's friend went to confront him over his act, Pereira took out a knife and assaulted him as well, he added. He has been arrested and sent to Colvale Jail, the official said.
