DPAP Chief Ghulam Nabi Azad cast his vote at the Government Girls High School during the third and final phase of the state election on Tuesday. Addressing the media, Azad urged citizens to exercise their voting rights sensibly and select their leaders prudently.

Azad emphasized the importance of careful voting, stating, 'I appeal to the people to vote wisely and choose their leaders and political figures carefully. Voters in Jammu and Kashmir have 11 to 12 hours today to cast their votes, and I urge all to participate. I won't support or oppose any party; the elected political party will address the issues.'

Polling began at 7 AM today, covering 40 constituencies—24 in Jammu division and the remaining in Kashmir Valley. The Election Commission reported over 3.9 million eligible voters in seven districts for this phase. Security was tightened to ensure smooth voting from 7 AM to 6 PM, involving 415 candidates, including ex-deputy chief ministers Tara Chand (Congress) and Muzaffar Hussain Beig. The BJP's Vikram Randhawa prayed at the Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Mandir, with Congress' Taranjit Singh Tony and PDP's Varinder Singh as his main rivals.
