Flight operations resumed on Saturday afternoon from Srinagar international airport after remaining suspended for 24 hours. Officials at the airport said after runway clearance and improvement in visibility, flight operations were resumed at Srinagar airport in the afternoon. "Five flights operated from the airport this (Saturday) afternoon with the resumption of air traffic. While three incoming flights landed, two flights which were halted on Friday were allowed to fly out," an official said. All flights to and from the Srinagar international airport were halted on Friday afternoon due to heavy snowfall.

On Saturday morning, an airport official said due to poor visibility and snow accumulation on the runway, no flight would be operated to and from the Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport till weather visibility improves and the runway is cleared of accumulated snow. "Five flights which landed here on Friday were not allowed to take off due to bad weather in the morning," he added. After night-long snowfall in Srinagar and other places in the Kashmir valley, more snow fell on Saturday morning. Road links, including Srinagar-Jammu highway and Mughal Road, which connect the Kashmir valley with Jammu region, have also been closed due to the snowfall.
