Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured the family of a man killed in the communal violence in Bahraich that those responsible will face strict action. The assurance came during a meeting with the bereaved family members in Lucknow, following the eruption of violence during a Durga idol immersion procession in the district.
The Chief Minister pledged a compensation package for the victim's family that includes Rs 10 lakh, a new house under the PM Awas Yojana, and a job for the widow of the deceased. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sureshwar Singh highlighted the family's demand for justice, confirming that the government has committed to a thorough and swift response.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak declared that a high-level inquiry is underway to investigate the incident, ensuring that peace disruptors are held accountable. The state government maintains that justice for the victim's family is its primary concern, vowing that the offenders will be punished without exception.
