The Delhi High Court has instructed Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd. to uphold the status quo on all its unencumbered assets, responding to a petition brought forth by Debenture Trustee Vistra ITCL on behalf of debenture holders. The legal move seeks to enforce an Arbitral Tribunal's order demanding the company secure Rs 503 crores.
Presiding Justice Jasmeet Singh's bench specified that the directive means Ansal Properties can't alter its unencumbered assets from this point forward. This ensures compliance with the tribunal's ruling as the court schedules a further review of the case for January 20, 2025. The order prohibits any dealings with these specific assets.
The decision aims to safeguard the financial interests of debenture holders during ongoing proceedings. Legal representation was made by Advocate Sidhant Kumar for Vistra ITCL and Senior Advocate Ashwani Kumar Mata for Ansal Properties. The case tracks back to a dispute over a group housing project in Ghaziabad executed by Ansal Urban Condominiums Private Limited.
