In a well-coordinated joint operation, five illegal immigrants were apprehended at Agartala Railway Station on Monday. The operation, executed with precision by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and intelligence agencies, was based on confidential information, according to an official statement from GRP Tripura.
The detained individuals include two Bangladeshi nationals and three Myanmar nationals who had entered India illegally from Bangladesh. As they attempted to board a train destined for other Indian states, authorities thwarted their plans. Conflicting statements about their intended destinations, with some mentioning Hyderabad and others Mumbai, have further complicated the investigation.
Currently held at the Agartala GRP police station, the detainees are undergoing interrogation. The authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as the investigation proceeds. An official statement confirmed that a case has been registered, and the individuals are due to be presented before the court tomorrow. The situation remains closely monitored.
