Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid) has won a transmission project in Gujarat through a tariff-based competitive bidding. The project involves establishing an inter-state transmission system for power from a renewable energy zone in Khavda, operating on a BOOT basis.

Power Grid Corporation of India, also known as Powergrid, on Thursday announced a significant achievement. The company has secured a crucial transmission project in Gujarat, highlighting its prominence in the nation's energy sector.

The project was won through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, as stated in an official exchange filing. It will facilitate the establishment of an inter-state transmission system to serve a potential renewable energy zone in Khavda, marking the advancement of India's power infrastructure development.

Designed to operate on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis, this project underscores Powergrid's pivotal role under the Ministry of Power as India's largest electric power transmission utility.
