Political Firestorm: Ambedkar Remark Sparks Protests in Parliament

In his Rajya Sabha address, Shah accused the Congress of merely name-dropping Ambedkar, suggesting, "If they had invoked the name of God as frequently as they used Ambedkar's, they’d have secured heaven for seven lifetimes." This fueled opposition ire, with Congress MP Manickam Tagore moving an adjournment motion.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju countered, alleging Congress had conspired against Ambedkar, questioning their respect for the former Law Minister. Rijiju, now Law Minister, underscored his Buddhist faith and emphasized his tenure as significant. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi criticized Congress, asserting Shah revealed their history of neglecting Scheduled Caste and Tribe communities.
