Iraqi Cabinet Greenlights Basrah-Haditha Oil Pipeline Project

The Iraqi cabinet has approved the Basrah-Haditha oil pipeline project, costing approximately $4.56 billion. This pipeline aims to transport crude oil to central and southern Iraq, enhancing the country's oil distribution network. Iraq's current oil production is around 4 million barrels per day.

The Iraqi cabinet has given the go-ahead for the significant Basrah-Haditha oil pipeline project, which seeks to bolster the nation's crude oil transport capabilities, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister's office released on Monday.

Estimated at a cost of 5.97 trillion Iraqi dinars, approximately $4.56 billion, the pipeline is poised to enhance linkage between Iraq's central and southern regions. The oil ministry had previously outlined this strategic project last August, aiming to streamline crude distribution across key regions.

With Iraq producing about 4 million barrels of oil per day currently, this development underscores a crucial step towards optimizing national oil logistics and ramping up the country's energy infrastructure.
