BSF Meghalaya Thwarts Cross-Border Infiltration, Apprehends Nationals

The BSF in Meghalaya successfully apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian accomplices near the East Jaintia Hills International Border. Following a strategic ambush, the individuals were intercepted and handed over for legal action, highlighting the force's dedication to border security and thwarting illegal cross-border activities.

In a recent operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals, alongside two Indian touts, as they attempted to cross the International Border in the East Jaintia Hills district. A statement from BSF Meghalaya confirmed that based on specific intelligence, personnel from the 172 Bn BSF conducted a special ambush in the Rattachera area, resulting in the interception of the suspected individuals.

The suspects, along with a seized vehicle, were handed over to Umkiang Police Station for further legal proceedings. The BSF's statement emphasized its unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's borders and counteracting any illegal cross-border activities.

Meanwhile, another operation took place in the East Khasi Hills, where BSF forces apprehended an individual attempting to infiltrate from Bangladesh. Following detection of suspicious movement, the suspect, identified as an Indian from Hojai, Assam, was handed over to Pynursla Police Station. This incident highlights BSF Meghalaya's persistent efforts to prevent smuggling and illegal infiltration along India's international borders.
