Record-Breaking Mahakumbh: Millions Flock to Sacred Confluence

Over 1.47 million devotees gathered at the sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, marking a significant milestone in Mahakumbh 2025. As the event progresses, political dignitaries join the masses in Prayagraj for the spiritual festivities, celebrating a harmonious blend of cultural and religious unity.

According to government officials in Uttar Pradesh, an impressive 1.47 million devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, a sacred confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati on Thursday. Among the devotees, 5 lakh are Kalpavasis, with 9.79 lakh pilgrims attending the ongoing Mahakumbh, recognized globally as one of the largest religious congregations.

As of February 12, the total number of pilgrims bathing in these holy waters has surpassed 482.9 million, highlighting the event's global appeal. On Thursday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, accompanied by the Council of Ministers, Legislative Assembly Speaker, Governor, MPs, and MLAs, embarked on a journey to Prayagraj for a ritualistic dip at Maha Kumbh 2025.

Before his journey, CM Sai expressed his gratitude towards Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and the UP legislative assembly's Speaker for the invitation to Mahakumbh. "Our delegation comprises members from various facets of government, united in spiritual purpose," said CM Sai. Meanwhile, Magh Purnima's 'snan' concluded successfully on Wednesday, marking a significant achievement according to Urban Development Department Secretary Anuj Jha.

"Concluding the Maghi Purnima 'snan' is an important milestone, with the last month witnessing participation from lakhs of Kalpavasis and crores of pilgrims," Jha reported, speaking to ANI. Mahakumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima, continues to reinforce its status as the world's premier spiritual and cultural gathering, drawing devotees worldwide until February 26.
