Two South African companies with strong Indian connections, Imbanita Consulting and Ion Exchange, have joined forces to address the country's pressing water and energy crisis through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Imbanita, established through a joint venture between Imbani Holdings and Tata Africa, along with Ion Exchange, which offers comprehensive water and environment management solutions, executed the MoU at the Indian Consul General's office. Bish Chakraborty, CEO of Imbanita, expressed confidence in their capability to alleviate South Africa's load-shedding issues that have plagued the nation in recent years.
Gourish Chakravorty, CEO of Ion Exchange Safic, emphasized the significant potential for applying India's experiences to South Africa, recalling India's past struggles with similar challenges. Consul General Mahesh Kumar hailed the partnership as a strategic outcome of the Matla-Urja energy conference, highlighting its importance in bolstering South Africa's economic growth through improved water and power management.
