In a tragic incident in Busan, South Korea, a fire at a hotel resort construction site has claimed the lives of six individuals, according to local authorities.
A busan fire agency spokesperson confirmed that around 25 others sustained light injuries, with respiratory issues stemming from smoke inhalation being among them. A helicopter rescue operation successfully airlifted 14 people who had sought refuge on a rooftop.
The fire reportedly ignited in insulation material near a swimming pool area, leading to the evacuation of approximately 100 individuals from the sprawling construction site, which includes three buildings across 12 above-ground and three below-ground floors. South Korea's Acting President Choi Sang-mok has called for an all-out effort to control the blaze.
