Record Breaking Cleanliness Drive at Maha Kumbh Attracts Millions of Devotees

Over 5.1 million pilgrims gathered at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj to bathe in the sacred Triveni Sangam. A Guinness world record was set by 300 sanitation workers cleaning the site, reinforcing the event's commitment to cleanliness. Traffic management efforts were also highlighted by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

Friday witnessed a massive turnout as more than 5.1 million pilgrims flocked to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Throughout the day, 5.3 million devotees took a revered dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam, the mystical confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, stunning officials and visitors alike.

Adding to the event's grandeur, 300 sanitation workers embarked on a historic cleanliness drive, aspiring to set a Guinness world record. Led by OSD Kumbh Akansha Rana, the initiative underlined the critical message of preserving river and water body purity, further showcasing environmental responsibility at the grand festival.

Traffic management was a central focus, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressing officer accountability amid congestion concerns. In Varanasi, a parallel surge of devotees posed logistical challenges, prompting reliance on extensive resources, including barricades and emergency forces, to maintain order and safety.
