Tragedy Strikes Devotees: Fatal Collision on Prayagraj-Mirzapur Highway

A devastating collision involving a car carrying devotees and a bus on Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway resulted in ten deaths. The accident occurred while the devotees were en route to the Mahakumbh Mela. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and urged swift relief efforts for those affected.

A fatal accident on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway claimed ten lives when a car full of devotees headed to the Mahakumbh Mela collided with a bus, police reported. The crash occurred late Friday night, resulting in the deaths of all car passengers. The deceased were transported to Swaroop Rani Medical Hospital for post-mortem examination, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Yamunanagar, Vivek Chandra Yadav.

In light of the tragedy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his condolences to the grieving families and instructed officials to expedite relief operations. The Chief Minister ordered immediate response by district administration officials to provide necessary treatment for those injured in the incident. He also expressed wishes for a quick recovery for the injured parties.

Earlier, on February 11, another catastrophic event unfolded on the Yamuna expressway near Raya cut in Mathura, where two buses collided, resulting in two fatalities and injuring more than 24 passengers. The accident involved buses traveling from Aligarh and Badaun. Emergency services promptly intervened, transporting the injured to various hospitals for care.
