In a significant push towards agricultural modernization, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami graced the 17th Krishi Vigyan Sammelan as the chief guest, held at the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology on Friday.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the conference, held in the sacred lands of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, in advancing agricultural innovation and farmer welfare.

The event provided farmers with insights into the latest agricultural techniques and access to experts in areas like horticulture and organic farming, through various informative stalls.

Underlining the prosperity efforts led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhami highlighted the state and central governments' initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural production and increasing farmer incomes through various schemes.

These include interest-free loans up to three lakh rupees, an 80% subsidy on farm equipment, and initiatives to convert existing tea gardens into organic ones.

Pushing forward the agenda of aromatic farming, the state government plans to create six aroma valleys, while a dedicated budget allocation of Rs 463 crore underscores the commitment to farmer and livestock development.

The conference also celebrated the historic contributions of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology since 1960 in agricultural research and talent cultivation.

Chief Minister Dhami encouraged attendees to engage deeply in the seminars and workshops addressing innovations in agriculture, digital advancements, climate change, and smart livestock rearing.

He expressed his hopes for the conference to inspire a new vision in the agricultural and livestock sectors, driven by the integration of cutting-edge technologies.
